Dhaka – A young man was stabbed to death allegedly by his rivals at Miakhannagar area at Bakalia in Chattogram on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Saiful Alam Rakib, 22, son of Shah Alam Sawdagar, hailing from Chouddhagram in Cumilla district, used to live in a rented house in Bakalia area.
Quoting family members, Alauddin Talukder, assistant sub-inspector of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost said four young men stabbed Rakib when he went to a nearby shop at night.
The attackers fled the scene immediately after the incident.The victim’s family members rushed to the spot hearing about the attack and took Alauddin to CMCH where he succumbed to his injures.
Pranab Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Bakalia Police Station, said a man was arrested in this connection.However, the reason behind the killing could not be known immediately, he added.UNB
