The ninth three-day “Gemcon Cup Golf Tournament- 2020” ended through a colourful ceremony on Rangpur Golf and Country Club (RGCC) ground in the city on Friday night.Over 100 contestants of different Golf Clubs from across the country participated in the male, female, junior and sub-junior groups of the tournament, a press release said.
The Gemcon Group sponsored the tournament organised by RGCC on its ground located on the Ghaghot river bank in the outskirts of the city.
In the Male Group, Colonel Jafar secured the first position while Lieutenant Colonel Motiul won the best gross award.
Brigadier General Jahangir became the runner up while Lieutenant ColonelMinhaz became the second runner up and Major Ashraf won the second best gross
award.
Brigadier General Mashiur Sarwar won the maximum part award while Brigadier General Rezuan got the ‘conventional on’ award.
Major Muhit won the longest drive award while Colonel Raisul won theMinimum Part award and Kazi Abrar got the nearest to pin award.
In the Female Group, Nasrine Haque Boby became the winner.
Elhan secured the first position while Nisa became the runner up in Junior Group.
In Sub-Junior Group, Zarif secured the first position and Saiba became runners up.
Rangpur Area Commander, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry Division and President of RGCC Major General Md. Nazrul Islam distributed
prizes among the winners in the concluding ceremony as the chief guest.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gemcon Group Lieutenant Colonel (Retd)Abdul Monayem, high ranking military officials, RGCC officials, participating
golfers and other invited guests were present, reports BSS from Rangpur.
