Zimbabwe squad for Test series against Bangladesh announced

Dhaka – A 16-member Zimbabwe squad for the two-match Test series against hosts Bangladesh was announced on Monday, including Chris Mpofu in the team in the place of injury-grabbed left-arm seamer Richard Ngarava.

The first Test will begin on November 3 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium while the 2nd and last one on November 11 at the Sher-a-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

Twenty-year-old Richard Ngarava has been ruled out of Test series after sustaining a groin injury during the third one-day international against Bangladesh at Chattogram on Friday and he will not recover in time for the Test series despite of aggressive treatment.

Chris Mpofu has played 15 Test matches since making his debut against Bangladesh in Chattogram in January 2005. He has been on three further tours to Bangladesh since then.

Zimbabwe suffered a 0-3 debacle in the ODI series against Bangladesh and they would look to make amends in the Test series with the senior players expected to lead the way.
