Zimbabwe Test, ODI, squads announced for Bangladesh tour

Dhaka – Ending their self-imposed hiatus, Brendan Taylor, Craig Ervine and Sean Williams are back in the fold as Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) on Thursday announced squads for the Test and ODI series in Bangladesh.Zimbabweans are set to play Bangladesh in three-match day-night ODIs before a two-match Test series in October-November.
Wicketkeeper batsman Taylor, middle-order batsmen Ervine and Williams had opted out of the T20 tri-series at home, which included Australia and Pakistan, and the subsequent five-match ODI series against Pakistan in June-July because of unpaid salaries.
Since then, ZC has been put on an ICC-structured funding plan, has restructured its debt and cut expenses, including staff contracts. Players were paid and three — Taylor, Ervine and Williams — of the five players who had boycotted the previous fixtures were back in the fold.
The ODI series will kick off on October 21 with the first match in Dhaka, while the remaining two games will be played in Chattogram on October 24 and 26.
The first Test will be held in Sylhet from November 3 to 7 followed by the second and final game from November 11 to 15 in Dhaka.
All-rounder Solomon Mire and fast bowler Kyle Jarvis, who had recovered from gluteal tear and hand injury respectively, found places in the squads.
Hamilton Masakadza, meanwhile, retained captaincy across all formats.
