The gazette notification stating that Speaker Abdul Hamid advocate will remain Acting President until a new president is elected was published on Wednesday.
The notification signed by Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said, “The post of the President has fallen vacant following the demise of President Zillur Rahman on March 20 during his medical treatment in Singapore.” UNB
