Maldives keen to take doctors, medicines

TheMaldiveshas expressed interest to hire doctors and import medicines fromBangladesh.

Visiting Health Minister of the Maldives Ahmed Jamsheed Mohamed conveyed his country’s interest during a meeting with hisBangladeshcounterpart Dr AFM Ruhal Haque at the Secretariat on Monday.

AppreciatingBangladesh’s progress in the healthcare sector, Jamsheed said the two countries can share experiences for the mutual benefits of the two nations.

Ruhal Haque said the people of Bangladesh are now getting better healthcare service as it has been taken to their doorsteps—both in urban and rural areas.

TheMaldivesMinister urged Ruhal Haque to allow more students toBangladeshto pursue their education in medical and nursing sectors.
