Man killed in ‘gunfight,’ another bullet-hit body found in capital

Police recovered a bullet-hit body of a youth from Madrasapara in Matuail area in Jatrabari on early Monday morning, reportedly following a ‘gunfight’ with the Detective Branch police.
Being informed, a team of Jatrabari Police Station, led by sub-inspector Humayun Kabir, went to the spot and recovered the body of the unidentified youth, aged about 25, at about 4:30 am, said SI Mosharraf Hossain of the police station.

SI Humayun Kabir has been quoted to have told journalists that on hearing the news of a ‘gunfight’ they went to the are and found the unidentified youngman hit with bullets at about 4am. The young man was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The young man was wearing a jeans pant, a yellow T-shirt and an olive Jacket.
Police reportedly recovered body of another bullet-hit unidentified youth from the city’s Cantonment area in the same morning.
The officer-in-charge of Cantonment Police Station Atiqur Rahman said they recovered the bullet-hit body of an unidentified youth, aged about 35, on DOHS-Banani flyover near Blue Moon Restaurant in Mirpur area around 6:00 am.
Six crude bombs and six patrol bombs were also recovered from the spot, the OC said.
The law enforcers could not give more clue to the killing. – UNB
