1 killed 2 hurt in Sunamganj clash   

Dhaka – An elderly man was killed and two people sustained injuries in a clash between two groups of villagers over occupying a water body in Dirai upazila in Sunamganj on Thursday.The deceased was identified as Majnu Miah, 60, son of late Alam Ulalh of Tetoiya village in the upazila.Mostafa Kamal, officer-in-charge of Dirai Police Station, said there is a longstanding dispute between Dunel of Kulanj village and UP member Abdul Ali of Tetoiya village over grabbing Tangni water body.As a sequel of the dispute, residents of two villages locked into a clash around 11:40am.A chase and counter-chase took place during the melee that left Manju dead on the spot and two people injured.Informed, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.The injured were taken to the Upazila Health Complex.UNB news agency
