1 killed, 4 injuried in Sylhet petrol bomb attack

An auto-rickshaw driver was killed and four people, including two truck drivers, suffered burn injuries as two trucks came under petrol bomb attacks during the 20-party’s blockade in Dakkhin Surma and Biswanath upazilas Thursday midnight.
Quoting witnesses, police said auto-rickshaw driver Shahjahan Mia, 30, was killed when a truck hit his vehicle as the truck driver lost control following a petrol bomb attack on his truck on Sylhet-Dhaka highway at Tetli Badikona in Dakkhin Surma around 12 am.Truck driver Kumen Das and his helper Niranjan Sinha sustained burn injuries during the incident.
The injured were rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. Among them, Niranjan received 70 percent burn wound.
Later, police and fire service men rushed to the spot, recovered the body and doused the fire.
Meanwhile, two people, including a truck driver, suffered burn injuries when some  miscreants set fire to a Chhatak-bound truck by hurling a petrol bomb at Lamakazi in Biswanath upazila around 11:30 pm on Thursday.
Injured truck driver Al Amin and his brother Al Hasan were rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. – UNB
