10 Bnp leaders placed on demand for ‘subversive activities’

A court in Dhaka on Tuesday placed 10 leaders of different local units of BNP on one day remand in a case for subversive activities during the hartal-blockade programmes enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance after January 5.The BNP leaders are include its Dhaka district unit vice president Din Islam and its Savar upazila convener Golam Sarawar.
Earlier on Sunday, the court sent them to jail when they surrendered before the court and sought bail in a case filed with Savar Police Station over subversive activities.
As police filed a remand petition against the accused on Tuesday, the court placed them on one day remand. Following the order, the accused were brought to Savar Police Station from the jail for the remand.- UNB
