On the occasion of Police Week, a total of 105 police personnel will be awarded with the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and President Police Medal (PPM) this year for their outstanding contributions. The Home Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday. Talking to UNB, additional secretary (Police) to the Home Ministry Nazimuddin Chowdhury said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will confer the BPM and PPM on the policemen at a ceremony at Rajabagh Police Lines in the capital on Thursday. He said although 90 police personnel are given the awards every year, the number has been increased this year in exercise of special power bestowed on the President. Of the 105 selected police members, 16 will receive BPM and 20 BPM (service), and 29 PPM and 40 PPM (service). – UNB
