Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday seized about 11 kilograms of gold and arrested a man after a private car was searched in capital Dhaka. The arrested man has been identified as Bijoy Sarker, 42.
Operation Officer of RAB-3 Mohammad Anisuzzaman told bdnews24.com that Sarker was arrested in front of the National Press Club in the afternoon.“We seized 100 bars of gold weighting around 11 kilograms after searching a white car,” he said.
The official of the elite crime bustling force, however, could not immediately ascertain where the gold had come from.
Legal action was being taken against Bijoy, the RAB official said. – bdnews24.com
