Many do politics for their own interests: Noor

Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor on Sunday said most of the country’s politicians do politics to gain their own interests; rather than for the country. “Many politicians say they do politics for the country. In fact, they don’t do it. Most of the politicians do politics for the own luck. That’s why, the politics and the society are getting polluted day by day,” he said. The minister was addressing the closing ceremony of the 55th basic course at Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre as the chief guest. Noor, also a popular media personality, observed that the young officials will have to play a vital role to make a developed democratic country. Observing that it is natural that there are different opinions in a democratic country, he, however, said, “There’s no scope for having any difference about our liberation war and independence.” The minister also said the practice of democracy has to be increased in the national interest. “Then, the country will achieve its success.” – UNB
