125 young cobras found and killed in Rajshahi mud house

Dhaka, Jul 7 – At least 125 cobras were found in the kitchen of a mud house and killed in Tanore municipality of Rajshahi district in northwestern Bangladesh on Thursday night.The house owner Akkas Ali, a local farmer of Bhadrakhana village of the municipality, said his wife Hasna Bibi first spotted three snakes in the kitchen while cooking in the evening.
Ali and his sons killed the three while dozens more began to come out from mice’s holes.
At one stage, Ali’s neighbours also joined them and killed a total of 125 snakes and also found 13 eggs.
The small snakes were about one foot long, and might have recently hatched from eggs, Ali said.
Earlier on Monday, another 27 cobra snakes were found and killed at a mud house in Rajshahi’s Budhhpara. – UNB
