Fourteen scientists of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) have been promoted
to Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and equivalent post. BRRI Board of Management
finalized the promotion on August 24. CSO is the top most position of the working
scientists under National Agricultural Research System (NARS).
BRRI has earned national and international reputation by developing high yielding rice
varieties along with associated technologies. BRRI Director General Dr Md Syedul Islam
has been working as a mediator for some time to reach and agreed upon solution and
finally succeeded to do that.
The newly promoted CSOs, who has been working in different BRRI research divisions
as Principal Scientific Officer, are Dr Md Fazle Rabbi, Dr Md Hazrat Ali, Dr Md Safiqul
Islam Mamin, Krishnapada Halder, Dr Md Khalequzzaman, Dr Md Alamgir Hosain, Dr
Md Mostofa Kamal, Dr Md Abdur Rahman, Dr Md Rafiqul Islam, Dr Md Islam Uddin
Molla, Dr ASM Masuduzzaman, Dr Md Abdul Jalil Mridha and Dr Mohammad Ali
Siddiqui. Along with them Dr Md Abu Saleque has been promoted to the CSO equivalent
post Coordinator for Advanced Studies and Research (CASR).
