18 injured in C’nawabganj clash

At least 18 people, including eight cops, were injured in a triangular
clash at Ramchandrapur village in Sadar upazila on Saturday.Bazlur Rashid, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar police station said two
groups of villagers, one led by Abul Kalam and another by Azizul
Haque, attacked each other over establishing supremacy in the area,
triggering a clash in the area around 11am.
They attacked police when the law enforces rushed there to bring the
situation under control.
Both groups exploded crude bombs during the clash and police fired
several rounds of tear gas shells and rubber bullets, leaving 18
people injured. Ten houses were vandalized and torched during the
melee.
Among the injured, two constables—Mustafizur Rahman and Kohinoor Islam
were admitted at Chapainawabganj modern Hospital.
