19 newspapers implement 8th Wage Board Award: Inu

So far, 19 newspapers in the country have implemented the 8th Wage Board, Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu told Parliament on Monday.
An 8-member ‘Monitoring Committee’ has been formed with representatives from the government as well as of journalists and owners, he said, answering a scripted question of AKM Mayeedul Islam (Kurigram-3).The newspapers which implemented 8th wage board are: Ittefaq, Bonik Barta, Prothom Alo, The Financial Express, The Bangladesh Today, The News Today, The Daily Star, The New Age, The New Nation, The Independent, Daily Sun, Kaler Kantha, Samakal, Amader Somoy, Bortoman, Amar Sangbad, and Dhaka Tribune from Dhaka.
Swadesh Sangbad of Mymensingh and Baher Sangbad of Rangpur also implemented the 8th Wage board, the Minister said.
He informed the House that the Monitoring Committee will examine the wage board implementation in these newspapers.
“Basically, implementation of Wage Board is a running process,” Inu said.-UNB
