2 BD nationals shot dead by BSF along C’nawabganj border

Two Bangladeshi nationals were shot to death by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Charaldanga border in Gomastapur upazila on Monday. The deceased were identified as Jabdul Haq Bhadu, 32, son of Daud Ali of Radhanagar village, and Shahjahan Ali Bhutto, 33, son of Hukmat Ali of Debpur village in the upazila. Chapainawabganj, UNB News Agency Reported.

Locals said the BSF members from Anuradhapur camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshis when they went to the bordering area around 2 am for bringing cattle from the neighbouring country. Bhadu and Shahjahan died on the spot while the rest managed to escape unhurt.

Lieutenant Colonel Zahid Hasan, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh Battalion-43, said a battalion commander level flag meeting between BGB and BSF was held in the afternoon over the incident. The BSF will return the bodies of the two Bangladeshi nationals on Tuesday morning, he said.
