Khaleda wants charitable organisations to be proactive

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday urged charitable organisations, including Ziaur Rahman Foundation established after party founder Ziaur Rahman’s name, to play a proactive role in helping the country’s helpless and poor people. She made the call while speaking at an iftar party organised by Ziaur Rahman Foundation at Ladies’ Club in the city’s Eskatan area.

“Ziaur Rahman Foundation and other such organisations have been founded to assist the helpless and poor people and solve their various problems. They’re doing many good jobs now. I hope they’ll play a stronger role in this regard in the days to come,” Khaleda said. Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.

Khaleda said the foundation has been working many appreciable jobs like implanting hands and legs of those BNP leaders and activists got maimed losing their hands and legs during its movement. “I wish their all-out success so that they can do better works for people’s welfare.” She also called upon the well-off section of society to extend their helping hands towards Ziaur Rahman Foundation so that disadvantaged people can be benefited from it.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, ASM Hannan Shah, Jamiruddin Sircar, vice chairman Abdullah Al Noman, Selima Rahman, chairperson’s adviser Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, AZM Zahid Hossain, BNP international affairs secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon and pro-BNP professionals, among other, attended the programme.
