2 Biman employees with 4.6 kilo gold held in Ctg

The Customs Intelligence has arrested two Biman employees with 40 gold bars weighing 4.6 kilograms while those were reportedly being from belt area at Shah Amanat Airport Chittagong on Sunday.

After flight FZ589 landed from Dubai at 9.30 am, the Biman employees were found carrying the gold in two separate cigarette packs from baggage handling area.

They were chased and caught by the Customs Intelligence team while they were running away from that area. The arrested Biman employees are: Belal Hossain and Sheikh Kamal working in the traffic wing of the national flag carrier.

The value the recovered gold is Tk. 2.30 crore. A legal action is underway, Customs Intellgence sources said
