Two boys went missing while taking bath in the Padma River in Kushtia while a minor boy drowned in Sunamganj district on Friday.
In Kushtia, the two boys went missing while bathing in the Padma River at Filipnagar Abed Ghat in Daulatpur upazila around 1pm.
The missing were identified as Sabuj , 13, son of Abdur Rahman and a Class-VII student of a local school, and Minarul, 15, son of Montu Mondal hailing from the area.
Being informed, fire fighters rushed in and launched an operation. However, they could not rescue the two children as of 7:45pm.
In Sunamganj, a minor boy drowned in a pond at Matikata village in Dharmapasha upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Hamim Ahmed, 2, son of Badal Miah of Latifpur village in the upazila.
