HABIGANJ: At least 25 people including two police officers were injured in a clash between two groups at Tegharia village under Lakhai upazila of the district on Saturday.The injured police personnel are Officer-in-Charge Nazim Uddin, Sub-Inspector Kanchan Deb and Constable Mokhlesur Rahman.
Of them Kanchan Deb was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Sources said two groups of Tegharia village locked into clash over land dispute around 12:00pm, leaving 25 people from both sides including police injured.
Both the groups used homemade weapons during the hour long clash.
Officer-in-Charge of Lakhai Thana Nazim Uddin confirmed the news.
Additional police were deployed in the area to avert further untoward situation, the OC added.- banglanews24.com
