2 sisters among 4 drown in Kishoreganj, Comilla

Dhaka – Four people, including two sisters, drowned in Kishoreganj and Comilla districts on Saturday.In Kishoreganj, two sisters drowned in a river in Hossainpur upazila in the evening.
The victims are Khadiza Akhter, 10, and her sistser Lipu Akhter, 13, daughters of Abdul Khaleque of Kauna village in the upazila.
Locals said Khadiza fell into the Narasunda River while playing on its bank and drowned. Lipu also met her watery burial as she came in the rescue of her sister.
After a hectic search, they were found floating in the river and rushed to Hossainpur Upazila Health Complex where doctor declared them dead.
In Comilla, two cousins drowned in a pond at Dhalua village in Nangalkot upazila in the afternoon.
The victims were identified as Farzana Akhter Popy, 13, a Class-VII student and daughter of Saidul Haque, and her cousin Tania Akhter, 11, a Class-V student and daughter of Serajul Haque.
Locals said Popy and Tania came to their ancestral home from Feni to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
The duo drowned in the pond while taking their bath around 2:30pm.
Later, family members retrieved their bodies. – UNB
