Chapainawabganj – A young housewife was killed allegedly by her husband at Gohabari village in Sadar upazila early Saturday.The victim was identified as Sonia Akhter, 25, wife of Sumon, a truck helper, of the village.
Sub-inspector Jahangir Hossain of Sadar Police Station said Sonia of Savar in Dhaka was married off to Sumon barely one and a half years ago. However, their marriage was not a happy one as they used to have quarrel very often.
Sumon killed Sonia sometime after midnight following a discord and dumped the body on the entrance of their house.
On information, police recovered the body on Saturday morning and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
There were marks of injury all over the body, police said, adding that Sonia might have been strangulated to death.
Sumon and other family members went into hiding just after the incident. – UNB
