Dhaka – Members of North Division (Traffic) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police seized 112 kgs of hemp along with a private car and detained two from the city’s Abdullahpur area on Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner (Traffic-North Division) Prabir Kumar Ray said on-duty Police Sergeant Md Saddam Hossain gave a signal to stop the car near Abdullahpur police box when it was heading towards Ashulia around 11:15am.
Defying the signal, the car fled away toward Ashulia. Being informed over walkie-talkie, a police team led by Sergeant Nasir put a barricade on the road and detained the private car.Police found 112 kgs of hemp hidden inside 10 sacks, said the DC.
A case was filed with Uttara West Police Station in this connection.UNB
