Dhaka- Customs intelligence officials arrested two gold traffickers along with four gold bars from no-man’s land area at Benapole check post in Jessore on Wednesday morning.
The arrestees were identified as Ariful, 34, son of Shafiqul Islam of Mallikpur village in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj district and Harun-al Rashid, 50, son of Abdul Gafur from Narayanganj.Tipped off, a team of customs intelligence officers searched bodies of Ariful and Harun and recovered the gold bars weighing 400 kilograms while they were crossing no-man’s land, said deputy commissioner of Benapole Customs Intelligence Mohammad Motaleb.The arrestees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.
