The jail authorities here on Sunday suspended two jail guards, including chief jail guard, in connection with the suicide of a prisoner in the jail.
The suspended guards are Amzad Hossain, chief jail guard of Rajshahi Central Jail, and Shukur Ullah.Senior jail super of the jail Shafiqul Islam Khan said prisoner Mohammad Jony, 21, committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree at a flower garden inside the jail on Sunday morning.
Amzad and Shukur were suspended in the afternoon for negligence of duties.
Besides, a departmental case was filed against them in this connection, he said. – UNB
