A mobile court here sentenced two young men to six months’ imprisonment each on Monday for possessing hemp.
The convicts were identified as M Rakib Hawladar, 20, son of Rubel Hawladar, and Biplob Barman, 19, son of Dulal Barman of Baukhir village in Jhalakati Sadar upazila.Police arrested the duo along with hemp from the district town on Sunday night.The following day, the arrestees were produced before the mobile court led by the Sadar upazila nirbahi officer (UNO), which handed down the punishment. – UNB, Jhalakati
