Two minor girls drowned in a pond at Durganagar village in Ullapara
upazila on Tuesday noon.
The deceased were identified as Pushpa Rani, 3, daughter of Babul
Kumar, and Chaiti Rani, 3, daughter of Paritosh Kumar, residents of
the village.
The deceased’s family members said Pushpa and Chaiti slipped into a
nearby pond of their house at about 12.00pm and downed while they were
playing on the bank of it.
Later, family members after a frantic search found their floating
bodies in the pond around 3:00pm. An unnatural death (UD) case was
filed in this connection.
