2 ‘robbers’ killed in gunfight with rivals in Cox’s Bazar

Dhaka – Two suspected robbers were killed in a reported gunfight with their rivals in Hinla no 14 Bridge area of Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar early Thursday, UNB news agency reported. Identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.Abdul Majid, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, said a gunfight took place between two robber gangs– ‘Abdul Hakim Bahini’ led by Abdul Hakim and ‘Shiailla Bahini’ led by Nurul Hakim alias Shialla around 2.00 am.
Being informed, police recovered the bodies and two guns and three rounds of bullets from the spot.
Later police sent the bodies to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
‘Abdul Hakim Bahini’ usually commits robbery in the hilly areas and police found its involvement in the Ansar camp attack that left an Ansar member dead in Teknaf upazila on May 12, said police.
