Dhaka- Police arrested two students suspecting them as Shibir men from Saddam Hossain Hall of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday.Islamic University, Aug 13 (UNB) – Police arrested two students suspecting them as Shibir men from Saddam Hossain Hall of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday.The arrested were identified as Golam Azam, a master’s student of Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies Department and M Hasnat Hossain, a master’s student of Computer Science and Engineering Department.The leaders and activists of IU BCL unit handed the activists over to the police, Raton Sheikh, officer-in-charge of IU Police Station, said.Earlier, police conducted a drive at room no-423 of the hall around 3:00pm as the activists of IU BCL unit informed them of sharp weapons. The hall provost Prof Dr Ashraful Alam, proctor Prof Dr M Mahbubar Rahman and assistant proctor Nasim Jaman were present during the raid.Later, police recovered some iron sticks and cricket stumps, 11 pieces of cocktails and bomb-making equipments from different rooms of the hall.UNB news agency
