Two women and a schoolgirl were found hanging in three separate incidents in Louhajang, Sreenagar and Sadar upazilas of the district on Thursday.
Police recovered the hanging body of a housewife from Jiyostala village in Sadar upazila on the day.
The deceased was identified as Lata Begum, 23, wife of Saudi Arabia expatriate Al Amin of Chhto Keurar village in the upaizla.Mohammad Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said being informed by locals, police recovered the hanging body of Lata in the afternoon.
In Sreenagar upazila, Soma Akter, 15, a class X student of AKSK High School and daughter of Abul Bashar of South Ompara village in the upazila, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of an abandoned house at noon.
The reason behind the suicide could not be known immediately.
In Louhajang upazila, police recovered hanging body of a housewife from a house at Kandipara village in the upazila on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Sanjida Akter, 18. Khalid Hassan, sub-inspector of Mawa police camp, said Sanjida might have committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house over a family feud. Police recovered the body and sent to local hospital morgue for an autopsy. – UNB
