21 Jamaat men held in Kushtia

Police in separate drives arrested 21 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, a few among them females, from different areas of the district early Thursday on sabotage charges.Kushtia Police Super Proloy Chisim said law enforcers conducted drives in different areas from Wednesday night to Thursday early morning and arrested them.Additional members of law enforcing agencies have been deployed in six upazilas to avoid any unpleasant situation.with Climate Change 2015’ began at local Town Hall ground in the city here on Wednesday.The fair has been organised by the Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP-II) under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief with assistance of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office, Rangpur .Secretary to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Md. Shah Kamal formally inaugurated the fair as the chief guest with the Divisional Commissioner Delwar Bakht in the chair.Different government and non government organisations and institutions have set up some 40 stalls in the fair to demonstrate various presentations on risks of natural disasters and adverse impacts of climate change.A colourful rally was also brought out on the occasion which paraded the main roads of the city.
