Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has taken a programme to set up 210 demonstration plots of Boro paddy in seven upazilas of the district during the current Robi season.The DAE office sources said three varieties of Boro paddy will be cultivated in the demonstration plots. Of the plots, BRRI-28 variety will be cultivated on 115 plots, BRRI-29 variety on 55 plots and BINA-14 on 40 plots.The aim of the demonstration plots is to encourage local farmers to cultivate the varieties, preserve seeds in the farmers’ level and applying modern technic in cultivation to increase production.Each farmers will get 10-kg of seed for the cultivation on a plot of 100 decimals of land.BSS, Jamalpur
