Construction of 4km road begins in Rangpur

Construction of two four-kilometre long roads from Chawrahat to Sarai and Jafarganj to Keranirhat have begun under Ward No-7 and Ward No-10 respectively in the city.Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu inaugurated the construction work of the roads by cutting a ribbon at two separate ceremonies as the chief guest on Sunday afternoon.The Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) has been implementing the work at a cost of Taka 2.60 crore under the Rangpur Division Infrastructure Development Project.oderated by Executive Engineer of RCC Azam Ali, Executive Engineer of Rangpur LGED Akhter Hossain presided over the ceremonies.City Councilors Anwarul Islam (Senior), Haradhan Chandra Roy, Anwarul Islam (Junior) of Ward No-10 and female City Councilor Ruby Begum attended as special guests on the occasion.While addressing the ceremonies, the mayor said adequate steps have been taken for turning Rangpur into a beautiful, eco-friendly city with modern amenities.He said massive infrastructural development work is being implemented under various projects and from own resources of RCC for turning RCC into a traffic-jam free city.The city mayor sought cooperation of all for smooth and timely completion of the works to establish modern communication networks in the city.BSS, Rangpur
