25 injured in Sylhet clash

At least 25 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers at Isabpur village in Biswanath upazila of the district on Tuesday.Nine of the injured were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital while the rest were given first aid.
Local sources said Araj Ali Mullah of the village had taken Tk 2 lakh from Asim Ullah, resident of the same village, long ago promising to send the latter’s son Sirajul to Libya.
As he failed to send Sirajul abroad as promised, Asim sought return of the money from Araj.
Fed up with repeated dates for giving back the money, Asim lastly pressured Araj for its instant payment and a brawl ensued between them on Monday afternoon.
As a sequel to it, followers of them, equipped with weapons, locked into clash on Tuesday noon, leaving 25 people injured on both sides. UNB
