2818 found dead, alive from Savar rubble

A total of 2818 people were rescued dead and alive in Savar Rana Plaza collapse till Tuesday noon.GOC of Ninth Infantry Division Major general Chowdhury Hasan Suhrawardy made the disclosure in a press briefing.
Hasan Suhrawardy said, “We heard some 3200 workers worked in that buildings and we found 2818 persons dead and alive from the debris of Rana Plaza.”
“We think there are no more workers in the rubble as some might not have come on duty on April 24 due to hartal,” he added.
On April 24, a eight-storey building—Rana Plaza—collapsed in Savar of Dhaka and at least 399 workers have been found dead.
In the latest development, High Court ordered authorities concerned to confiscate all the movable and immovable properties of the owners of Rana Plaza and five readymade garments.
The owners are Sohel Rana, owner of the collapsed building—Rana Plaza, Bazlus Samad Adnan, owner of New Web Bottoms and Mahmudur Rahman Tapos, owner of New Web Style, M Aminul Islam, owner of Phantom Apparels of Rana Plaza and Md Anisur Rahman, owner of Ether Textile Limited. banglanews24.com
