Police in a drive arrested three alleged gold smugglers and recovered 12 gold bars worth about Taka 40 lakh from Karmokarpatti area on the Kalibari road under Mirzapur upazila of the district last night.The arrested were Korban Ali, 65, Arif Hossain, 28, of Takibari-Chandpur village under Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur district and Habibur Rahman, 25, of Rajabari village under Sakhipur upazila in Tangail district.On a tip-off, a team of police from Mirzapur thana conducted the drive in the area and arrested them with the gold bars, said ub-Inspector (SI) of the thana Safikul Alam.A case was filed in this connection.BSS, Tangail
