Dhaka – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have arrested three alleged fake currency traders along with counterfeit notes worth around Tk 5 lakh in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj.The arrestees are Md Quamrul Islam, 24, Mohammad Hridoy, 25, and Nannu Miah, 45.Based on secret information, a team of Rab-10 conducted a drive in front of Kanchpur General Hospital and Lab at Jamil Khan Complex on Wednesday and arrested the trio along with the fake notes.The elite force also recovered three mobile phone sets and Tk 20,780 in cash from their possession.During interrogation, the arrestees revealed that the trio had long been involved in dealing in fake currencies, claimed Rab.Quamrul used to collect fake notes and sell those in different areas with the help of Hridoy and Nannu, it said.UNB news agency
