Dhaka – Police in separate drives arrested three people along with two pistols, some bullets and one knife from different places of Bogra and Rajbari districts on Sunday.In Bogra, two young men along with one pistol and one knife were arrested from Matidali area of the district town at noon. The arrestees were identified as Hasan, 21, son of Bablu Sheikh, and Sohag, 22, son of Mostafizur Rahman of Uttarpara Matidali.
Being tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area around 1:00pm and arrested the duo along with one pistol and one knife, said Faizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station. The arrestees were wanted by police in different cases.
In Rajbari, police arrested a man named Abdul Hamid, 45, son of Amir Ali of Kamlapur village of Kushtia district, along with one pistol and a few rounds of bullet from Daulatdia bus terminal of Goalanda upazila early Sunday.
Sub-inspector Amirul Islam of Goalanda Police Station said on secret information, a police team halted a Dhaka-bound bus coming from Benapole in the terminal early in the morning and arrested Amirul along with one pistol and some bullets from the bus.
Police filed a case under the Arms Act. – UNB connect.
According to amoptjher report reaching Dhaka at, least 178 people were arrested from Bogra district on different char5ges including alleges possession of arms and drugs.
