3 killed, 35 injured in Jessore road mishap

Three passengers were killed and at least 35 others were wounded as a
passenger bus turned upside down on the road at Karuitala under
Chaugachha upazila in Jessore at around 2am on Tuesday.
The dead were identified as Altaf Hossain, 42 of Dashpakhia village,
Ashraful Islam, 40 of Shinghajhuli village and Abdul Jabbar, 45 of
Fatepur, all under Chaugachha upazila.
Of the dead two died on the spot while the other at Jessore Medical
College Hospital. The injured were rushed to Jessore Medical College
Hospital and Chaugachha Upazila Health Complex.
Sub Inspector Probir Kumar of Chaugachha police station told that the
accident occured as the bus carrying devotees coming from the Atrashi
Darbar Sharif in Faridpur turned turtle as the driver lost his control
over the steering.
The two died on the spot and the other at Jessore Medical College
Hospital, he added.
