Tk 74,.72cr rural development work in Jamalpur

A total of Taka 74,72,54,000 has allocated for development work in the
district under Improved Rural Infrastructure Development project
(IRIDP) during the 2010-2013.
The project is being implemented by the Local Government Engineering
Department (LGED).
According to LGED office, Tk. 6, 86, 59, 000 in Dewanganj upazila, Tk.
8, 55, 19, 000 in Bakshiganj, Tk. 16, 81, 79, 000 in Islampur, Tk. 15,
6, 8, 000 in Melandah, Tk. 5, 32, 48, 000 in Madarganj, Tk. 11, 40,
71, 000 in Sarishabari and Tk. 10, 69, 70, 000 in Jamalpur Sadar
upazila were allotted.
Under the projects, road development work, construction of box
culvert, construction of RCC Girder Bridge and RCC Slab Bridge,
construction of U-drain and improvement of ‘tana’ bridge are being
done.
LGED office said, 42 out of 130 schemes have already been completed
and the remaining work going on in full swing.
