Rajshahi – Police on Thursday detained three students of Rajshahi University from the university campus, suspecting them as activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, the Jamaat-E-Islami-backed student organisation.The arrestees were identified as Liyakot of public administration department, Fahad Hossain of finance department and Shuvo of accounting and information system department of the university. They were all third year students.
Campus sources said, Liyakot, Fahaduddin and Shuvo were having discussion with the freshers at the Tukitaki Chattar. They were interrupted by RU BCL unit president Golam Kibriya and general secretary Faisal Ahmed Runu.
At one stage of interrogation, BCL leaders handed the three men over to Police, claiming that they found some shibir’s photos and information from their mobile phones, sources added.
Humayon Kabir, officer-in-charge of Motiher Police Station, told to Greenwatch that they were interrogating the three detained persons. – RU Correspondent
