3 suspected ‘JMB men’ held in C’nawabganj

Chapainawabganj, Dec 31 – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested three suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Kamardaho in Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj early Sunday. The arrestees were identified as Azibul Haque, 53, Saiful Islam, 35, residents of Dhobra village and Tazamul Haque, 46, a resident of Laxmipur village.
Based on secrete information that around nine JMB men were holding a clandestine meeting at Kamardaho to carry out subversive activities, a Rab team operated a drive there, said a press release issued by Rab-5 of Chapainawabganj.
During the drive, the elite force members arrested Azibul and Saiful from the spot while other members of the gang fled the scene sensing the presence of the law enforcers.
Later, Rab personnel arrested Tazamul from his home based on the information of two arrestees.
Rab members also recovered four Jihadi books from the spot. – UNB
