Bagerhat – At least 30 people were injured in a clash between activists of Awami League and BNP at Mikhait village in Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon.Offices of the both parties and several motorcycles were also vandalised and torched during the melee.
Locals said the clash ensued around 5 pm when local Awami League men were holding a meeting at their office to chalk out programmes to observe the National Mourning Day on August 15.
A chase and counter chase took place during the melee that left 30 people injured from the both sides.
Both the party offices and several motorbikes were also vandalised and torched.
On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
They also arrested two youths from the spot. – UNB
