30 including 4 policemen injured in Faridpur village clash

Faridpur, Jan 2 – At least 30 people including four policemen were injured and 20 houses were vandalized during a clash to gain domination between two groups of Fukra village in Saltha Upazila that started Tuesday evening and ended Wednesday afternoon. Police managed to disperse the mob after spreading 24 tear gas shells and firing 32 blank shots in the area, said Md Delwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shaltha Police Station.
Local sources said the clash ensued following an altercation between Lal Mia and Ruhul Molla of the village, later it divided the villagers into two groups, creating a skirmish in the area, that continued sporadically up to Wednesday afternoon.
Later on information, police rushed to the spot and managed to bring the situation under control. – UNB
