At least 30 godowns of spice items were gutted by a devastating fire that broke out at Rajabazar in the district town on Monday night.
Witness sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a godown of the bazaar around 10:00pm and soon spread to others.
On information, four firefighting units from the district town rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after half an hour of frantic efforts.
During the fire, all spice warehouses remained shut.
The affected owners claimed the loss caused by the blaze could go up to Tk1 crore. -UNB, Bogra
