A college teacher was hacked to death by miscreants in Badurtala area of the district town on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Zia Uddin Babu, 45, professor of Bogra Sherpur Degree College, also joint convener of Sector Commanders’ Forum Bogra unit.
Witnesses said a gang of miscreants swooped on Babu, also an activist of Ganajagaran Mancha, Bogra, blasting five crude bombs in No-1 rail gate area around 9:30pm and hacked him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
