31st ODI fifty for Shakib as Tigers 152 for 5 against NZ 341

Dhaka – Bangladesh have reached the score of 152 for five wickets in 28.2 overs, courtesies Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan in the first one-day international cricket match of the three-match series against New Zealand at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on Monday.
Shakib Al Hasan completed his 31st ODI fifty and fell soon after. Tamim Iqbal also scored 38 runs off 59 balls, including five boundaries.After the dismissal of Tamim for 38, it is Shakib who has been taking chances against the Kiwis bowlers.
Shakib collected 59 runs off 54 balls, firing five boundaries and two over boundaries before caught by Southee and bowled by Ferguson in 27.3 overs.
Bangladesh required another 190 runs with 5 wickets and 21.4 overs remaining.
Earlier, Bangladesh were off to a falter start but small partnerships for the fourth and fifth wicket helped them recover from the situation.
Earlier, Tom Latham ‘s century of 137 runs sailed New Zealand to set a mammoth target of 341 runs against visiting Bangladesh in their 1st ODI of the three-match series at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on Monday.
Batting first after winning the toss, New Zealand played stipulated 50-over for their collection of 341 with the loss of seven wickets, spurred by the 5th pair contribution of 158 in 17.5 overs between Latham and Colin Munro.
The stunning 5th pair batters started their composures from 158/4 in 28.4 overs that ended at 316/5 in 46.3 overs Munro was caught by Taskin Ahmed off Shakib Al Hasan bowling, after playing an innings of 87 off 61 balls that witnessed eight boundaries and four over boundaries.
On the way to his 2nd ODI ton, opening batsman Latham faced 121 balls to fire seven boundaries and four over boundaries, before he was caught by Mushfiqur Rahim off Mustafizur Rahman bowling at 323/6 in 47.3 overs.
Black Caps skipper Kane Williamson (31), Neil Broom (22), opener Martin Guptill (15) and James Neesham (12) were the other double figure scorers for the side.
Cutter sensation Mustafizur made the first breakthrough for Bangladesh dismissing Guptill at 31 in 5.1 overs while captured Latham caught behind as his 2nd prey. He conceded 62 runs in 10 overs.
World’s number one all-rounder in one-day format, Shakib was the most successful bowler for the Tigers bagging three wickets — Broom, Neesham and Munro — for 69 runs in 10 overs. Taskin Ahmed was another wicket taker for Bangladesh capturing two for 70 runs in nine overs. – UNB
