Members of Rapid Action Battalion seized 33.7 kilograms of gunpowder from Jahurpur border point in sadar upazila on Saturday.
Being tipped off, a team of BGB, led by Jaharpur BGB camp Nayek Subedar Abdur Rahman, conducted a drive in Jaharpur border area and recovered five plastic bags near pillar no. 19/5 in an abandoned condition around 8 am, said director of Chapainawabganj BGB-9 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Abu Jafar Sheikh Mohammad Bazlul Haque.Later they recovered 33.7 kgs of gunpowder from the five packets.However, no one was arrested in this connection.
